The rally is over and we're staying on in Moorea for a few days. Moorea is superb scenery, everything Tahiti should be. There are towering green volcanic craters surrounding turquoise bays. We're tucked in behind a reef by a white sand green palm beach in 3m of clearest water we've ever seen. It's so clear we can check the anchor set from the deck and watch spotted eagle rays and a small black tip shark swimming under the boat.
With the crews of 10 other boats for company we walked a couple of miles towards Cooks Bay to visit a factory which produces juice from local fruits. Because it was Monday there weren't any tours of the factory, but the tasting bar was open and we diligently tasted all their products from the pressed juice to those enhanced with rum. All the tasting gave us an appetite for lunch which the local creperie satisfied.
