Tuesday 23 November Yacht Club night

The Opua Yacht Club is a very nice and friendly club right here in the marina. Once a week their kitchen offers a 'budget meal' for NZ$12 / £6 so no surprise there was a good turn out tonight to sample the fare. We'd been invited to Inspiration Lady for drinks before the short walk to the club so we tied our dinghy to their stern. The Inspiration Lady's have invested in a month in a slip while the Jackster's opted for more rural anchoring in the bay. Downside for us is it takes a minute to dinghy into the marina & we don't have mains power. The upside is it's free, very still and quiet at night and our wind generator can run freely.
I digress from the YC. A good turn out, The Inspiration lady's and their house guests Fran & Al from Canada, Freezing Rain (Donny & Marie), Paikea Mist (Gloria & Mike) & Anthem (Jack). It was the usual boat talk – what work are you having done? When are you leaving? Where are you going? We're hanging around for another week waiting for a tuner for the SSB radio and new credit cards for me to be delivered.
