Saturday 19 February Yacht boot sale

Swap meet
As car boots are to regular folks, swap meet or treasures of the bilge sales are to yachties. There was a swap meet organised for this morning. People had dug into the bottom of their bilge, got stuck in a lazarette pulling out things no longer needed on voyage which could be laid out on a tarpaulin for inspection and hopefully swapped for beer tokens and to become another's treasure.
We were on the buying side, nothing much to sell except a couple of gerry cans. Our find was a spares kit for our Kiss wind generator. No sailor ever has enough spares 'in case'. We have spares of spares.
Sunrise
Our afternoon was spent lavishing more love on our new dinghy. It has a permanent green canvas cover for protection when we're out and about but what about the sun damage when it's stored upside down on the deck? Time to roll out the resident domestic seamstress and her trusty sewing machine. This time I was remodelling a cream sunbrella deck shade to become a slip cover. The sun was intense today. Whenever I was uptop for fitting it was hat on, sunscreen on. By the end of the day I was 70% finished. A couple of hours tomorrow and we'll be done.
