On Saturday we moved 3 miles to anchor off Volivoli Resort at Volivoli Point. It's not an official anchorage or mentioned in any of the guide books but we'd had a recommendation from an expat on Koro island as a good place to meet our incoming guests.
Steve and Gail at the resort made us most welcome. The Stray Kitties came over to join us today so we could share a taxi in to Vaileke five miles down the coast where we could do major fresh produce re-provisioning and for us to meet Amy and Andrew who'd flown in from NZ to spend a couple of weeks cruising with us.
Vaileke is a major town with supermarkets, banks, a market and restaurants for a filling curry lunch. Right on time Amy and Andrew's bus pulled in and we retrieved them and their bags. Our taxi van driven by Mr Singh, aka Mr Goody, was much more loaded for the trip back to Volivoli. There were an extra two people and extra two big travel bags, jerry jugs of petrol for Kittie's dinghy and many bags of shopping. All important things needed for a trip to the offshore Yasawa islands where we intend to go in a couple of days – when the wind shifts to the right direction.
