There's
a joke in the UK about one of our European neighbours whose citizens
are famed for getting up early and claiming the best poolside
loungers by laying out their towels before the Brits are out of bed.
We hold up our hands and say 'guilty' to the same mind set. We left
Rozelle Bay and moved out to Athol Bay by the zoo and with a perfect
view of the bridge and Opera House in readiness for Monday night's
party. With 48 hours to go to the big event there were already 36
vessels anchored. There's an unwritten, but followed rule, first to
anchor had water, and swinging rights, over any other vessel which
anchors after. We were here first. You move!

We
sent a text to tell Camomile the place, although it is a big bay, was
filling up fast so they came out later and anchored within shouting
distance but at a gentlemanly distance. We enjoy being in out on
the water rather than in a tight spot in the centre of the city. It
feels more natural, more relaxing. We had a barbecue and a glass of
wine watching the sun setting behind the opera house. There was a
definite wow factor.
