Throughout
the day there was a constant stream of boats coming into the bay.
Some knew how to drop and set an anchor others threw out this heavy
piece of metal with a bit of chain attached confident this was the
correct technique. There was lots of posturing and bitch wings (the
non subtle art of showing displeasure, or 'you're too close' by
placing one's hands on one's hips and glaring at the incoming
vessel), lots of testosterone.
We
could see the queues to get into the zoo and the crowds of people
inside the zoo and were pleased to be in the relative calm of the
boat and to make our visit after the silly season.
We
had the Camomile's, Sue and Bill, and the Inspiration Ladies over for
dinner in Chez Jackster with her stunning harbour views. There were
more cards after dinner and more mayhem and uncontrolled laughter
when I knocked a glass of chilled rum into David's warm lap!
