Wednesday 23 January Another welcome visitor

Derek visiting from Singapore
David began the day at the doctors for a follow up on a small keratosis ( a non malignant skin cancer) which Doc Wim had removed by freezing two week ago. He got the all clear on this, had his blood pressure and pulse checked; the good news is he has the heart of a twenty year old (and the enthusiasm for life of a big puppy, a very big puppy :). Doc Wim suggested he had a blood test as a regular maintenance check so we walked in to the City to a pathology lab where a delightful Korean nurse took some phials of his blood. We should have the results early next week.
Apart from the doctors, we did some more boat jobs and in the evening, the lovely Derek Venn came for dinner. Lovely Derek is married to one of my friends from London days. They and their young family live in Singapore where Derek is a COO for ANZ bank. This week he had to come to Sydney on business and came to see us. We last saw him two years ago in Whangerai, NZ when the family Venn were visiting Rachie's family in Tauranga. It was a wonderful evening.
We've been so lucky to see so many of our friends here in Sydney, either friends from home who've emigrated (Bob & Neil), others returned from London to their home city (Cathy & Paul) and like Derek, passing through on business.
