Today's
trip was a short hop of 37 miles from North Goulburn to Valentia
island buddy boating with Julianna II. Valentia wasn't as
accommodating as N Goulburn with it's anchorage; the side sheltered
from the wind was too shallow for comfort and had swell, the southern
side with better depth and no swell didn't offer much wind protection
but as it turned out the wind dropped completely and it was a very
comfortable night.
Wendy
and Stephan invited us aboard Julianna for pizza supper and a most
enjoyable evening. We talked boat stories and planned our journey
through the Bowen Straits tomorrow; another passage requiring timing
for tides and currents.
