A
week has slipped past without us noticing. Last Tuesday we were the
new arrivals in the anchorage and now we're village elders. Half
the boats have left for Kalimantan, aka Borneo, but we are hanging
back to be able to arrive when they are leaving the orang utan park.
For the last few days David and I have been busy doing nothing more
strenuous than boat jobs in the morning, going to a cafe which serves
great coffee in the afternoon and then joining friends for dinner at
one of the many restaurants here. We have spiced it up somewhat with
a trip to the big town of Singaraja and having massages to ease our
tired muscles (?). We filled up with fuel delivered in jerry cans by
a man on a small boat – 347 litres total topped up the tank and
filled 13 jerry jugs we carry as 'spare'. Our moto is buy it when
it's cheap and the price is good here. Even if we had to motor all
the way this would get us to Singapore.
This
evening we've got a birthday party to go to – Neal from Rutea is 59
and we're invited to join then at a restaurant then it will be back
to the boat to pack up ready to leave for Kalimantan at 3.00am
tomorrow morning. (David let's me go back to bed once we are clear
of the land and sails, course settled). Then we'll swap and he'll
get his sleep.
