A
pre dawn start from Lombok, the first 30 miles in boisterous seas and
winds as we crossed the channel between Lombok and Bali and then
motoring as we found the ourselves in the wind shadow of the big
volcano on Bali brought us to Lovina beach on the north shore mid
afternoon. There were almost 40 boats in the anchorage – most
were here to renew their visas (we'd been able to extend ours in
Labuan Bajo 3 weeks ago) – a large group for us.
We
knew just where to go ashore because there were thirty dinghies
pulled up on the black sand beach and as it was happy hour the owners
of said dinghies were in the bar having a cold beer. We joined
Camomile, Norsa and Inspiration Lady for a catch up on where they'd
been and what they'd seen since we last saw them. Then it was dinner
in one of the many restaurants.
