He's been working without complaint on this problem for two weeks. Two weeks of sweating in the engine room and he's lost weight. It's like working in a sauna.
What have I been doing while our chief engineer works so hard? Housekeeping duties, spring cleaning, working the vacuum cleaner to within a inch of it's last suck in, multiple laundry loads and delving to the bottom of every cupboard. It's interesting what you discover. For example we have two large bags of sushi rice (might have been on special offer), out of date cans, treats I'd forgotten about and, best of all, I found a favourite bra (thought to have been lost in a laundry long ago) lurking under the wet weather gear. How did it get there? Possibly when I was bringing laundry in it got dropped.
Amongst all this industry there has been time for breaks. On Friday many more boats from Sail Indonesia rally arrived and in the evening there was an Oktoberfest promotion at the Marina restaurant / bar complex where we had a reunion with old chums and enjoyed complimentary German beers, bar games and the less expected vision of Malayan girls and boys in traditional Tyrolean costume.
Saturday night we went out for dinner with Gary and Jackie (Inspirational Ladies) in JB and enjoyed some late night shopping mall wandering.
At close to 8 o'clock David has the engine room back together, cockpit tidied and is scrubbing with detergent to clear the malodour. Being the good wifey I have G and T and dinner ready.
