Sadly
it's time to move on. St Helena is one of the places where we could
have stayed longer, but time moves on and so must we. We've cleared
out, paid our port fees (£35), mooring ball fees (£2 a day) and
ferry dues (£1 per person each way), returned our library books,
repaired a tear in the Sunbrella on the headsail. The dinghy is
deflated and the out board stowed.
With
705nm and the probability of a straight down wind run we anticipate a
passage of four and a half days to Ascension.
We
have our Ascension visitor permits approved; it took just three days.
Like St Helena, Ascension island requires all visitors to have £1m
health and medical evacuation cover. Our is an annual family policy
through DAN, Divers Alert Network. It was good enough for Chagos and
is good for here too.
So,
onwards to Ascension Island.
