The
area between the marina and the walled city is called Getsemani.
It's where the workers, not rich or important enough to live within
the walled and gated city, lived. Today it has retained it's
Bohemian feel with a lively and uniquely Colombian joie de vivre.
After
sundowners on Mister X with Ken from Lady Rebel joining we went in to
Getsemani for dinner. We strolled through the holiday crowds
sitting outside busy little restaurants, watching the street
performers outside the church in Trinidad Square, or buying large
plates of kebabs from the street vendors. People were just out
celebrating.
It
took a number of tries to find a place with a free table but we did
eventually and enjoyed a Mexican meal. David and I stayed to watch
the dancers in Trinidad Square after and succumbed to a passion fruit
Daiquiri for me and a manly Pina Colada for the Captain. It would
have been rude not to.
