Christmas Day

Mister X
Ho ho ho here comes Santa. If you live on a sail boat Santa arrives in a rubber boat with an outboard to deliver his gifts accompanied by his helper Manuela.
Jackster decorations
Ian and Manuela of Mr X came to us for Christmas lunch. A beautiful sunny day I'd hung one sarong from the bimini to shield the sun and used another as a table cloth. A cruiser can never have too many sarongs.
Christmas lunch
Lunch began with a glass of chilled champagne. Then there was more champagne and smoked salmon and prawns. More champagne and roast duck, dauphinoise potatoes and broccoli. A rest to digest as the sun waned in to late afternoon and then panetone cake with English custard. Coffee and more chatting took us into evening until it was time to go out.
Christmas evening is party time in Cartagena – families are out eating and shopping. Yes, shops are open. Everything is open. We sat at one of the outside tables at the Cuban club watching the world walk past.
Strolling home close to midnight we decided this had been a wonderful Christmas. Six months ago we chose this was where we wanted to be. We came and it hasn't been a disappointment.
