We arrived from Barbuda almost two weeks ago intending to stay a week and look what happened! Two weeks and we're still here. For me it's a non rolly anchorage with shelter from the predominant easterly winds. It's good for swimming from the boat, a beautiful sandy beach and not too big; room for four to five boats overnight, more with the day trippers.
The day trippers are a mixed bunch; day tripper catamarans who park practically on the beach, super yachts guests sitting under gazebos with well trained staff delivering cold drinks and a lunch cooked by the chef and then there are the three Tradewind charter catamarans. They arrive in the late afternoon and shoe horn a space between the other boats to get as close to the beach as possible. Sometimes they were just too close.
While we've been here we had drinks on evening on Proud Cat, a boat we first met in the Maldives, and dinner on Sisu, a South African Leopard catamaran.
A
week ago we got together to hire a minivan taxi for a supermarket run
to St Johns. Pick up was on the fisherman's' dock on the north side
of Nonsuch Bay and from there it was a forty minute drive. It was
well worth it to be able to fill the fridge once more with the fresh
stuff and pick up some treats for the crew.owl & pussycat in a pea green boat
The wind has been blowing strongly from the east to south east for the last week, but tomorrow it is a few knots lighter, the seas flatter; perfect for the ten mile downwind sail back to English Harbour.
Before we leave a final trip out in the dinghy for Polly - she's looking for fish for the Captain to catch for her.
