The walk into town from Port Louis is two miles. Depending on how much shopping I'm carrying I either walk or hop a bus back.
Strolling around the Carenage you can see the history of the island nestling alongside modern day Grenada; the old English fort is on the highest point guarding the entrance to the harbour just above the new General hospital. The cathedral and churches dominate the upper levels of the town while below the inter island trading ships dock next to the fishing fleet.
The
furthest point I walk is a couple of miles to the fish market where I
buy Mahi mahi for all three of us.Carenage fish market downtown Carenage the lagoon
