Marina days are busy days. We can sit and ponder when we're at anchor. I used the inclusive water and electricity to run the washing machine multiple times through the morning and in the afternoon we went to pick up our hire car. A 24 hour hire strategy that works for us is to begin the rental late afternoon. That way we can do an evening shop at the hypermarket and have all of the next day for fun stuff.
One small glitch in the plan we hadn't considered was that at Bas du Fort marina you need a token from the office to unlock the carts to move provisions from car park to boat and, of course, the office was closed when we arrived with a heavy load of shopping, a long dock and being the boat furthest from the car park. However, there were lights on in the office and two carts parked inside. David knocked and a lady, the cleaner, appeared. With bad French and lots of arm waving we negotiated a loan of the cart. To show our good intention to return the cart I left my watch with her. We unloaded and trundled our goodies down the dock before returning to the office to swap cart for a watch. We like to think of this as a good entente cordiale.
This racing trimaran came in while we were there. It is huge.
