The 'official' Caribbean hurricane season began on 1 June. We have a berth booked in Port Louis Marina in Grenada from 1 July so it is, sadly, time to begin a slow journey south.
We have really enjoyed our time in Les Saintes islands. Why? It is very pretty and it's quiet and calm. The dinghy dock is excellent. There's good snorkelling straight off the boat and kayaking in the protection of the bay. Ashore we have walks to beaches, walks up to Fort Napoleon and some of the very best French restaurants. The standard where the chef comes from a Michelin starred restaurant in Paris. 'Tis a shame to leave. I hope we can come back next year.
At midday we dropped the mooring and sailed 20nm to Rupert Bay, Dominica where we stayed for one night before continuing to Martinique.
