We have a rental car for a couple of days. Today was for walking and a visit to the Botanic Garden near Deshaies.
The first walk in the morning was a forest walk around the summit of a hill with grand views over the north coast with a clear view all the way to Montserrat. It was our intention to do the full one hour loop but when we saw the muddy state of people coming back to their cars we revised to a shorter and drier path.
Middle of the day and we were strolling in the shade of trees in the botanic garden; plants from all over the world, many of the countries we've visited.
On the way back to base later in the afternoon taking the high mountain pass (sounds far more grand than it is) we took a break for another forest walk. In the late afternoon and in more elevation it was cool and quiet, a bit muddy in places.
