3 October Day 2

Our first night in the apartment was a big success and Polly is slowly adjusting to her new surroundings, finding under the sofa, or behind it a good place to hide. Except when watching big screen TV.

what are we watching Dave?

We arrived at the yard at 8am followed by our local worker an hour later. I've heard it's called Island Time. He estimates he will be able to acid wash both sides and compound one side in the first day.

While he got on with that David and I removed the bow thruster and drained the oil. Yesterday was the first time to really inspect the state of the hull; on the whole we are not in bad shape. We'll need to sand out barnacle footprints and key the surface, but one area above the propeller has not fared as well. Here David says we'll need to sand back to the base coat and key with an application of Jotunmastic, a binding undercoat. We call our Jotun supplier in Carriacou and he has promised to put it on the inter island ferry tomorrow and I can collect in St George.

this area will need priming

Dinner was pub grub and a boutique beer at the West Indies Brewery. I've been working all day – I don't need to cook and wash up too!
