Polishing and waxing of the port top side is finished today and our helper can move on to the sanding. But. He is not a happy man complaining that the sanding discs aren't coarse enough to do the job. We do another sweep of the chandlers and hardware shops and come up with a more coarse grade, but for a 6'' sander. If we cut them down they should work except they aren't sticking on the sander. The fixing is hook and loop, or Velcro. Possibly the hooks on the face of the sander are tired so we go back to the shop to buy replacements which David fits.
A couple of the fishing trawlers which parked are close to us have been sanding fibreglass today and we and Jackster are coated with dust, despite wearing protective overalls, face masks and gloves and are feeling tired. We finish before sunset and go back to our chilled apartment for showers, iced gin and tonics and a simple meal while watching Formula 1 qualifying from Qatar.
