15 June Fort de France, Martinique

Unusually, when we arrived in FdF the prevailing wind was from the south, not easterly, which posed the issue of where to drop the anchor. You have to visualize where boats will lie when the wind reverts to east and guess how much chain they have out which is the hardest guess. Naturally we chose a spot with a good swinging room, but when a boat larger than us left we moved for even better clearance on our neighbours. It also had the advantage of being further away from the source of loud music playing into the early hours of the morning. There seems to be a celebration for the upcoming Paris Olympics taking place on the carenage.
