The adventures and misadventures of Jacqui and David aboard Jackster; our mission to sail the world visiting as many places as possible

4 November 2009 Check into Bonaire
Went along with Inspiration Lady to clear customs and then to the police station for immigration as the immigration office was unmanned. A cruise ship was alongside on the dock and that was where they were. It's a very friendly island. Houses are a mix of Caribbean and Dutch style, happy colours of blues, oranges, yellows, aqua and white. All yachts have to take a buoy as anchoring is forbidden to protect the reef. There are 40 buoys in two lines within 100' of the shore line. The back of our boat is hanging over the reef. I went for a swim and snorkel and dropped on to a spotted eagle ray under the keel. The water is gin clear, no current and 30c warm. Not bad.
