Tuesday, 16 March Swapshop Tuesday

One of the characteristics of cruising is peoples willingness to share and help others. The philosophy is 'pay it forward', today you might be able to help someone, tommorow may be your turn to ask for help. David went over to Inspiration Lady to help Gary remove his damaged windvane steering system in preparation for the new parts being shipped into Panama City within the next few days. Jackie from I Lady and I went over to Bristol Rose with novels to swap and to look at the cruising guides Rob and Trish have for the South Pacific. These have been conspicuous by their absence in the Panamanian chandleries but may be available further down the chain. I swapped 6 books for 10. Either we read less or we have more space to store books. With the amount and range of reading material we have Jackster could be the mobile library of the Pacific.
Back on board Jackster with my hoard of new reading material before i had time to put it away David said “Let's move. This anchorage was too roly last night”. OK. A quick ten minutes later we had the anchor up and we were on our way to Isla CaƱas off the east caost of Isla del Rey. We pulled in as the sun was going down. A calm, flat bay and we had it all to ourselves. For the first time since we started sailing we are on our own in an anchorage. This shows cruising is very popular or we have always chosen popular sites.
