Tuesday 25 May Impossible to pronounce Taiohae

Looking to sea from Taiohae
A town means the promise of fesh baguettes and a chance to buy fresh vegetables. It's so long since we were able to find fresh greenery that the salad drawer in the fridge has been renamed the beer and tonic water drawer. The last carrots and cabbage were in the Galapagos 5 weeks ago. Fortunately we enjoy tinned sweetcorn and peas which we bought by the case in Panama.

At the grocery store we bought the last baguette in the shop with some pate and cheese to go with it and at the fruit & vegetable market, green stuff; bok choi, cabbage, carrots and grapefruit. The grapefruit grown here is delicious. Back on the boat the beer and tonic water were replaced by the fresh stuff.
