Wednesday 2 June Kauehi Atoll, Tuamotus

We arrived at our first Tuamotu atoll at the perfect time to negotiate the pass into the protected interior. With all these atolls you have to know the times of the tides to calculate slack low awater and slack high water, at all other times the current can be too strong to get through. Our first pass was a breeze and we motor sailed 8 miles across the atoll to the small village on the north side. Here our friends on Dignity had kindly invited us over for dinner so it was a quick tidy up and away. When we finally got home, with the help of a couple of glasses of wine, we were asleep before our heads could touch the pillow.
