Friday 4 February Harvesting

David shucking
It would have been rude not to. Not to stop at Otata bay and dive for scallops. The sea was rougher today so David was big and manly and dived on his own while I stayed on board as surface cover and watching that Jackster was safe too. David was back on board with a full bag after 20 minutes and we were underway to Manhurangi harbour. I shucked and David helmed on a fast sail north.
The bay where we dropped anchor, Otarawao is in front of a campsite and on this Friday evening it was full of families visiting in their camper vans for the weekend. We ate our scallops as the children murdered each other, it sounded like murder, playing drown your friend.
