Sunday 11 February Missionary Cove

On Friday we left Waikawa in the rain and headed out to the Tory Channel which is the channel the ferries use to enter and exit Queen Charlotte Sound to the Cook Strait and on to Wellington on the north island. From the Tory Channel we turned right into Missionary Bay half way down and came alongside Inspiration Lady on a mooring ball to raft up.
to the hills!

By Saturday afternoon it had cleared so we went for a walk along one of the tracks used by the logging company. Everywhere you look around here the slopes are given over to timber production, thousands of acres of fast growing pines. We worked up a hearty appetite to enjoy Gary's spaghetti carbonara in the evening.
Sunday and more walking – 3 ¼ miles uphill to a look out over the Cook Strait to north island and behind us Blenheim Bay and then 3¼miles downhill to the dinghy.
Tomorrow we'll hea back to Waikawa and start preparing for our 'round South Island road trip.
