What
have we done for the last four day? Diving, diving, diving. The
most and the best we have enjoyed for a very long time. This is what
we came to Indonesia, and especially to Wakatobi, to do. Sometimes
we fitted in three dives, sometimes two extra long swims as it's not
deep stuff. Mostly it's been on the wall looking for the small
critters and we did find some good stuff, plenty of lion fish,
diverse corals, bump head wrasse, and no current, but we did a dive
on a pinnacle covered with gorgonian fans, a sure sign of current,
and found it on the top of the rock. Plenty of lobsters in the
overhangs too.
The
local fishermen know where to find lobsters outside the dive area
because although we saw no locals swimming where we were two
enterprising canoes caught and sold us four lobsters for our supper
this evening. We kept then fresh for the day in a large bucket tied
to the stern and hung in the water. Simply boiled with garlic
butter they were delicious.
Hoga
has been good, very good; a secure place to the leave the big boat
and easy access to easy diving. Tomorrow we move on to Tomia island.
I've phoned the resort there and they are going to send a speed boat
out to meet us and show us a mooring ball where we (Geramar is coming
too) can tie up.
