The
Jackster's have been to the shops; chocolates (cool air conditioning
and European brands tempted us to linger longer), boat bits (always)
and wine shops where we discovered they are now selling spirits in 3L
boxes. Wine OK, but gin, vodka and whiskey? The information on the
side of this French product advised three litres is equivalent to 4
bottles or 24 glasses. That would be a very large measure! Possibly
it's the same label they use for wine boxes. I hope so.
Plenty
more shops for boat bits, hardware, lots of clothes shops and so many
suitcases on wheels (presumably to carry all the chocolate and casks
of gin).
There
are good restaurants here too and a street market on Saturday night
which presents a challenge for westerners not used to eating curries
with their (right) hand while walking along. We cheated – finding
both seats and spoons to help us.
