We
came in to Linton Bay marina for two days and are now going to be
staying for a week. The daily rate of U$0.75 a foot per day and
U$0.50 a foot for a week means what you pay for four nights is the
same amount as for seven at the lower rate. There's time for David
to equalise the batteries. We don't have to get the dinghy off and
we can AC in the bedroom at night.
The
weather window was another factor – it kept moving back. In
readiness we decided to do our clearance formalities; first the Port
Captain at the marina and then a bus into Portobello to visit the
immigration department.
The
bus into Portobello was very busy and the bus back didn't arrive.
Joining up with a young couple of backpackers we shared a taxi back for $12 between us – convenience for $6 more than if we'd
waited for a bus. Plus we were loaded with bottles of coolant for
the engine and bread and wine for us.
