It was a relief to sail away from rolly St Pierre and have a fine sail to Rupert Bay at the north end of Dominica. We arrive as the sun sets and aren't going to clear in. We were doing what is commonly known as 'yellow flagging', flying the yellow quarantine flag, not getting off the boat and leaving early next morning. The boat boys are familiar and happy with this. We pick and pay for one night on a mooring ball giving them some income and communicating our intention not to come ashore.
Guess what? It was rolly! And noisy! Will we ever have an evening when I can cook without having to stop plates sliding back and forth on the counter top or grab a glass about to slip off the table? All with the back drop of music from the biggest set of speakers in the Caribbean?
Tomorrow is a short 20 mile trip to Iles des Saintes, Guadeloupe. Fingers crossed for peace and quiet.
