6 May Walking, walking

We have been walking the length, breadth and height of Terre-de-Haut island. As it's not so big we can reach the top of the island, or the end of the island, in an hour. We scrambled up a track to Morne Morel for views to Guadeloupe, walked the road up to Fort Napoleon, Wove through the streets to the runway and back along the beach and joined the goats at Tete Rouge battery.

Just as well we've been walking because evenings we've been eating handsomely at the wonderful local restaurants; fresh fish served with a touch of je ne sais quoi divineness.

One afternoon I went snorkelling after a very long and hilly walk in the morning and got cramp in both calves and in the arches of both feet. This is a rarity for me, but ooh it was painful and a long, slow swim back to the boat.
