Just less than 2 weeks to go before we are scheduled to haul out for anti fouling and maintenance and we have begun buying materials and checking the tools we'll require. Preparation and more preparation to save time on the hard.
Yesterday we visited the hardware shop to buy paint rollers, paint trays, safety wear, dust masks, sanding pads for the orbital sander, etc. Called in to our car rental company which has its office at Cool Running apartments and it was just too convenient to take a look at their apartments with a view to staying there while Jackster is in the boat yard. Of course, as soon as we saw the AC apartment with a kitchen, clean bathroom and because we can bring Polly we were tempted. When we were shown the laundry room with three industrial size washing machines and driers, all included in the price, it was a done deal. For the first time we won't be staying on Jackster on the hard! I am so happy! Polly will be safe. Less climbing up and down the ladder. I'm already planning to wash all the cushion covers on the boat.
Today D&D Marine was due to deliver the final 2 of 6 gallons of Jotun Seaforce 90 we ordered but there was a delay and delivery is now promised for next week.
Meanwhile
back at Port Louis Marina the cool cats who live here were completely
uninterested in what we'd been doing. And why should they?Bob, ginger JJ and Honey
